The plane crashed about a half mile from our house. I can see the
(woods surrounding the) site from my yard.
It's been interesting to experience this. We've gotten several calls
from worried friends because names were not released for a day and a
half. (The chances that my wife and I would be in a single-engine
plane in crappy weather before 6:00AM are *really* slim.) The
circumstances seem odd and I'm going to be watching the investigation
with interest.
The local paper had a big spread on the crash yesterday along with a
history of crashes in the county. There were several quotes from
people at Purdue (Aviation Technology). It was done surprisingly
well.
