If only the LX and your PDA is connected than it's simple: ground
connected both ends(used for data and PDA power also), Tx on LX side
connected to you PDA's Rx, Rx on LX side goes to PDA's Tx, finally PDA
power supply also connected.
This way the communication is bidirectional, so you can declare your
task etc-etc.

I have both rx and tx lines connected to the rs235 connection in the LX. I
saw the reference to the switch in the literature but could not understand
its function. Their is no other serial device attached to the LX. Which line
does the switch break and why is it necessary. ???? Lx obviously dont
support Winpilot and getting answers re this topic is difficult, otherwise
their support is excellent.

Thanks to all replies Stuart

Stuart,

It depends on the kind of cables you have. If the cable goes directly
to the LX7000 then WinPilot can only receive data and cannot transmit
and the Ipaq is not powered by the LX7000.

If you have a Y cable setup with a Power converter and a declare
switch then WinPilot can make a declaration to the Colibri.

Also the LX7000 can use WinPilot PRO, which has direct winds, climb
maximizer functions.
