The real name for them is: gyroplane.
I like the Magni. You can buy parts from most
kit builders, such as Gyrobee, and create your
own. Many prefer a rebuilt Subaru engine and
others a Rotax. I think the key word is "fuel-injected"
vs. carb. The vibration comes mostly from the over
head rotors through the cylic. RAF2000 seems to
have the vibration problem licked, but it's a two
seater.
Your best bet is to get training from a qualified
instructor and 'see' first hand what's it's about.
If you've already done that, then look up PRA and
get talking with gyroplane pilots. Good organization.
