it is the sudden cooling of very humid air, due to the low pressure area
of the wing, and the wingtip vortices. I can get contrails off my prop
tips here in FL. I have also seen contrails form off flap tips on very
humid days. Theat is exactly what "chemtrails" are, too -- just water
vapor condensing out of solution in the air.
