Yes, and you can be surprised. The David Clark is simply oustanding,
but it's also probably the most expensive portable intercom on the
market. I honestly don't know what I was thinking when I bought it, but
I can tell you that the backup battery was a consideration. Not sure if
anyone else does that now, but at the time, I don't think anyone else
did.

be willing to part with for a reasonable sum,

How so? I haven't made a decision yet on selling the unit, as it was
expensive and I occasionally do have use for it. It probably doesn't
pay me to sell it, only to have to buy another portable intercom later
on.
