But be aware that this ELT, operating on 121.5 / 243 MHz will no longer be
responded to by COPAS, SARSAT beyond 3 years. After that, it will be
essentially useless.

The 406 MHz PLBs, though more expensive at $450+, provides faster and more
accurate emergency response and is the new international standard, working
anywhere in the world.
