Test posts should be directed to misc.test or alt.test.

There are a handful of Usenet servers that have auto-responders that help
you verify that your post is being seen by others. An auto-responder will
e-mail a copy of the post to the e-mail address in the "Reply-to:" or
"From:" headers. You should see it within a few minutes, though it helps to
wait an hour or two.
