Well, finally made the trip to the Eastern shore of Maryland- it was 3.8
hours out, all IMC on the way there, and nearly 4 hours of solid IMC on the
way back. I was sent over Baltimore and then to the final destination, so
the routing was nowhere near DCA or Andrews. Potomac approach was very
courteous and helpful, despite being busy with approaches into Reagan and
the low weather.

The return trip had low ceilings everywhere on the East coast all the way
into Ohio, and it was reassuring having nexrad, onboard radar, and the
second engine. Even picked up some ice on the way into Wisconsin, so it was
a pretty good learning experience.

Thanks to all for the advice.

Does anyone have any experience flying across the Washingon ADIZ?

I'm coming from the Midwest to the Eastern shore of Maryland next week,
which requires crossing Washington's ADIZ and B airspace.

I'll be under IFR, but I was wondering whether they sent IFR traffic
around the big ADIZ or through? If I have to go around, it'll most likely
mean a gas stop.

TIA.
