This one hits close to home.
Had a round trip St.Louis-Raleigh/Durham on an A/F Ebraer this summer. The
guy flying St.Lou-Raleigh did a talented greaser, but on the return trip the
(different)guy was flapping around like a ruptured duck on a five mile final
and landed hard at St.Louis. I was tempted to look to see if someone ran
from the plane with their shirt tail missing. ;-)

The second guy had to be an "ab initio" from a quickie course who still
hasn't a clue what those "pedal thingies" are for. In the end tho, the
biggest PITA was going thru the terminal and finding my car.

In defense of the pilot (funny how we do that Huh?), I wasn't in the cockpit
and I know he had a "Copilot" who was probably a check pilot driving the
pilot nuts. The nastiest landings I have made were with an examiner.

I know, but no matter how I spell Raleigh, it doesn't look right. 8-)

PS, the Embraer is a nice plane. I found myself wondering what it would cost
to get one and make a plush "weekender" of it.
