Default So where you flying for Turkey Day?

I'll be flying across southern MS & LA Wednesday morning, heading for
Houston. Listen for Cutlass '87D if you get off early. Looks like we'll
have great weather.

We had "interesting" weather for our flight to see Mr. & Mrs. Montblack, up
in the Minneapolis area. The jet-stream was screaming right over us, and
thus we were bucking a 55 knot headwind all the way from Iowa City to ANE.
The temperature at 5500 feet was minus 15 Fahrenheit.

I took a picture of my GPS, showing a ground speed of 86 knots, just to
prove it to myself. It was a looong flight.

Then, while we were donating all of our money to the Mall of America, an
Alberta Clipper swept down from Canada and buried Atlas under 3 inches of
light, fluffy snow. Unaccustomed to such abuse, he nevertheless shook it
off with aplomb...thanks to six of us sweeping and scraping everything off
before departure. (Haven't done *that* in a long time, probably not since
flight training in Wisconsin...)

The flight home was very nice, into (of course!) another headwind. Only
about 15 knots this time, however.

Today, it's 50 degrees here. When we left Minnesota, the wind chill was
below zero. Gotta love November!
