Default Anyone know the weight difference?

Thats true, the plane I'm building calls for 3 mil Okume. I've come
across a website of a kr2 builder who decided to install the
composite/foam instead of plywood. Unfortunatly he didn't weight
anything before he made this change. Also he oversized everything on
the plane and made quite a few modifications. His plane is overweight,
but doesn't know if it's from the redesign, the oversize, or the
material change. I like how it's coming out and it promises to be a
very slick machine.

Sure hope he registers it as a "Swiftfoam Special" or something other than a
"Rand KR2". I can understand the toothgrinding that a designer suffers when
someone substantially alters their design, yet keeps the name the same.

2 mm Finnish Birch is the equivalent in weight and strength to 3 mm Okume,
IIRC.
