The airline pilots wanted top be armed on Sept. 12, 2001.
Congress finally passed a law, but the TSA has dragged its
feet and only a handful are armed.
Why didn't the pilots just refuse to fly on Sept. 20 unless
they were armed. The answer, they are more afraid of the
government and the news media than they are of the
terrorists. The union, toothless, they only strike for more
money, not armed pilots and crews, not the rights of
citizens.
Government response...if pilots were armed, somebody on the
plane might get hurt, if the plane is hijacked we will shoot
it down with a missile from an F16 and kill them all.
