Also on hand were their B24 "Witchcraft" (Formerly "A Dragon and His
Tail")
Man, how many times are they gonna rename that plane? I saw it in '92
at Quonset Point RI when it flew in (also with the "909") with its
restoration just recently finished by Tom Reilly in Kissimmee. Back
then it was the "All American". Not sure when it was renamed
"Dragon..." Now it's "Witchcraft"? What gives?
The CF volunteer I spoke with explained that the name "All American" was
intended as a salute to all USAAF vets. The change to "Dragon..." was a
tribute to those who served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations and the
current nose art, "Witchcraft" is a tribute to those who flew in the
European Theatre of Operations.
