I've been using old laptop-carying bags for my flight bag. They usually sorta
double as "briefcases," so they have lots of small compartments to separate things
like different charts, plates, handhelds, etc. Probably a pound or two heavier than
they need to be, but often available as cheap/free from surplus obsolete laptops.
