While your point is well-taken, I didn't read Chief Jim's note the way you did. To me, he is advocating that others simply keep copies of their unit rosters, etc., for their own use later.
"Otis Willie" has been exposed as a fake several times previously in this NG. Never hurts to remind folks though, and your inclusion of several exposé links was helpful for those not yet "with the program."
