The cost of getting the Sport Pilot license is about half of a Private
Pilot license and you still get to log your time. You can then always go
on to get the Private but statistics show a Sport Pilot license will cover
the kind of flying most pilots do. And the Light Sport Aircraft are more
fun anyway.


I can't disagree with the principle. The problem may be finding a sport
plane and an instructor put together.
