Default EB28 Electronic Turbulators

And if they quit on final?

Quit = fully closed - no turbulation: Your drag increases slightly and
you have close the spoilers slightly to compensate.

Quit = fully open - full turbulation: probably normal operation.

Johnson regularly disables the turbulators on the gliders he tests,
including those with blowholes. He doesn't report any change in flight
behavior.

Shades of Gus Raspet.

Huh?

The EB28 has the usual blow-holes on the underside
of the wings that control
the boundary layer separation. The airflow to these
holes is controlled by
electrically operated valves that open or close in

airspeed. This is supposed to optimise the turbulating
effect of the holes
in accordance with the glider's airspeed.

I've just read this months offering of Sailplane and
Gliding. there is an
article on the new EB28 and in the article they reference
having had
electronic turbulators fitted. Could someone explain
what these are
please.

Thanks,

Phil
