How like the public to be more concerned about themselves than the pilot.

Well if a car goes careening out of control while you're walking down the street and it looks like it could hit
you, would you at that particular instant be more concerned with yourself or the driver?

This wasn't a car careening out of control, it was a plane crashing.

I'm aware of that, thanks. But when something comes unexpectedly toward your general direction, either horizontally,
vertically, or both, it's likely to get your full undivided attention and a flight instinct to get the hell away
until to you have time to figure out what's going on and whether or not you are danger.


And yes, if I saw a plane crashing, I would be more concerned about
those on board than it falling on me.

Would you? How do you know that others on the ground/water in this actual accident weren't as concerned as you? I'm
glad that you feel so superior.

I posted this story because I thought it was a positive one, plane has engine fail, but pilot walks away from ocean
ditching, noone hurt. I thought the picture taken just as the plane ditched into the ocean was especially
interesting, if not rare. I should have figured someone on this group would spin it negative.
