Default No Direct Flights?

Direct is not non-stop. Chances are it was headed towards Ernesto.

Also, it you really paid 'top dollar', it would have been a fully refundable
fare. You really need to read the fine print when you buy an airline ticket.

What kind of plane are you planning to buy that will get you from PIT to DFW
faster than an airline? Unless you're doing it weekly, you would be better
off with a charter.

My Navion will get me from PIT to DFW in around 5 hours this morning
according to aeroplanner. The PIT-LGA-DFW flight this morning has
a elapsed time of 6 hours. Factor in getting to PIT early to clear
security, the fact that there might be closer airports to both the
origin and destination that PIT and DFW (the Navion only needs 1000
feet of runway), and the fact that I can depart when I choose, it's
looking like light GA is a winner on this route.
