You can file it as the destination too.

I filed from 3BS direct MBS VOR, LAN, AMN, 3BS.
There was a pause and the briefer said, I think I can see a way to
save you a lot of gas if you are willing to go direct.

Two airports in the middle of nowhere 40 miles apart. I can't think of
