Sorry for being dense, but why? An also-ran on an old airframe. Diamond
has something like that in test flights, Cirrus has announced it. Both
with modern airframes.

There is something to be said for an already tested airframe, and technology.
Quicker startup, less unknown problems.

The location of the engine would also seem to have advantages of serviceability
and engine changes over the other singles, I would think.
