open trailers
Every metal glider I've seen that has been left out on a trailer has been
filled with critter nests and surprising amounts of water. I know of a 2-33
that had so much rain water in the wings that they couldn't be lifted off
the trailer. Stuff like that does terrible things to metal.

Recently, I have been digging through ads offering used gliders, and I
have noticed that older metal sailplanes such as the Schweizer 1-3X
series often come with only an open trailer. Now that's fine for
transport, but what about storage? Can a metal glider be left
disassembled on an open trailer under the sky?
