I'm afraid age and parenthood has made me soft.

When a baby taking his first steps falls and you don't catch him the
first time, that's just the way it is, you can't hover over him. If
you don't catch him the second time, you know it's part of the
learning process.

But if you don't catch him the third time, you're just being mean.
