In older aircraft that require flight engineers, are these flight
engineers qualified to fly the aircraft in an emergency? If not,
what qualifications do they have? Do they have to be pilots (i.e.,
licensed)?
In an emergency, does someone have to be a pilot to fly an aircraft?
Did you hear about the Continental pilot who died at the controls. Pax
reported that the first officer came over the intercom and asked if
there were any pilots on the flight (probably to help with radios).
Mxsmanic could have solved the problem for them. I believe there is a
setting that controls how likely emegencies are.
