That rings a bell. I used to live at Lajes back in the early 60's. Beautiful
place. My dad was flying air rescue looking for guys like NW_Pilot who might
have had problems ferrying aircraft across.

57th Air Rescue Squadron, Lajes Field, Teciera Island, Azores, Portugal. Them
were the days.
