Default Tonight on NOVA....

It's not better and it's not completely free but I think what they are
referring to is MythTV. It's a Linux based DVr program. The upside is
that you don't have to pay a monthly service fee for the program data.
The downside is you need to buy a PC with the proper capture cards and
hook it up to your TV.
Since you say your paying 5.00 a month for the TIVO, I'm going to guess
that you have DirectTV. The Myth solution will not work for you as it
won't control your satellite's receiver.

You are correct, and I've heard of that. I see the $5/mo as insanely
reasonable based on the following:

- My wife understands how to use it and likes it.
- The hardware was free.
- My wife understands how to use it and likes it.
- I have no PC's anywhere near the TV's.
- My wife understands how to use it and likes it.
- If it breaks, DirecTV swaps me for a new one.
- My wife understands how to use it and likes it.
- The whole shebang works seamlessly with DirecTV
- My wife understands how to use it and likes it.
- There is no extra attention or maintenance required.
- My wife understands how to use it and likes it.

For $5/month. G

I was thinking there might be something new I hadn't heard of.
