Default Air Force One "26000" VC 137C

This brings back memories. I was only 3 years old when he was
assinated. In 1998, I was witness to history when "26000" VC 137C
landed at Wright Patterson AFB. I saw what I think was the last

takeoff
and the last landing on the USAF Museum runway. 26000 landed on the
main runway and was kept there on the TA ramp for a couple of days. It
then took off and circled the base and landed on the very short museum
runway. There were massive crowds lining the adjacent roads to get a
glimpse of the landing. I believe it is still there on display. I
retired from the AF in 1998 and this was on of my most memorable

moments
of my career.
