The B-53 was a Convair concept from 1945. It was to be powewred by 3
GE-J-35 jet engines. There was to be an attack version, and a bomber
version. The attack had asolid nose, and the bomber, a glass nose. It was to
have a max range of 2200 nmi, but the normal range was 875 nmi. Top speed
was to be 583mph with a service ceiling of 44,000ft. Of course, it was never
built. Data courtesy of Lloyd S. Jones, from his book U.S. Bombers.
