Thx for your comments to everyone,
I didn't know that there are so many free nav progs. Some of their
interesting features aren't even integrated in commercial software like
Pocket StrePla or SeeYou Mobile. I will go through the manuals and will
install the best looking ones.
If I got to much time left I will also try to install linux on an older
IPAQ (3600 series) with Cumulus (
http://www.kflog.org/de/cumulus/ ). If
I try, I will wrote my experiences with that.

Andreas,
Yes you are correct StyleTap does cost ($40). However, they offer a
14 day trial of the product so you can load it and then load
SoarPilot. There is a page in the online manual which talks about the
StyleTap-specific support. Just go to the manual and search for
StyleTap.
Later!

If you already have an IPAQ, go for any of those two
programs.
If you dont have one, consider going the PALM-Route
with a used Tungsten-T and
SoaringPilot (www.soaringpilot.org).
A GREAT free software.
The SoaringPilot web site says it runs on 'most Windows
WinMobile/PocketPC devices using StyleTap® support'
so you might want to try it anyway. However, if you
don't have StyleTap I gather it's not free.
