Default Lexan

How about a little heat, say from a hair dryer?

Dear listers,

I need some help. Three weeks ago I had to push an airframe I was
working on, into the open, as I needed space.
The lexan windshield was installed with the protective plastic masking
left in place.

The plastic masking has deteriorated to such an extend, that I can not
get it off the lexan now. It has broken up in millions of 1/4 mm
square pieces that have bonded to the lexan.

I have tried, to no avail: hot water and soap, meths, turps, spit,
thinners (huge mistake), and scratching it off with my fingernails
This method leaves scratches on the lexan. (can these be polished
out?)

I have not tried acetone (another big mistake?), ammonium-based
detergents or fire (match into the fuel tank).

Please guys, how do I get this stuff off? All suggestions will be
tried. It is driving me mad.

Thanks and regards,

Erik Snyman
