Default Titan III-C Launch GPN-2003-00046.jpg

Thanks for the pics. I got this souvenir badge while a student at Fla Inst.
of Tech. in Melbourne.
Had to be between 1968 & 1970 and a google search has me believing it was
probably
the launch on Feb. 9, 1969 of a Titan IIIC/TACSAT. The "17" on the badge may
reference
the s/n of that vehicle (3C-17) although I am not sure that is what it (17)
actually means. Groups of
students from FIT were invited to witness launches at various times from
within the launch
facilities...... A great experience that I probably didn't appreciate at the
time like I should have.
Important launches such as the Apollo program events were really a fantastic
excuse to have
an overnight "launch party" along one of the causeways to the barrier
islands. :-)
