I guess most of us hope to land out less often than
we make it back to base, so the answer to this one
is surely 'whatever takes your fancy'. Cycling lycra
for example (including padded buns tee hee) would be
just as acceptable as the more usual garb of worn old
clothes, strange hats, and layers and layers of fleece
for winter wave flights. Aside from our own prejudices
of course.

However...

Also, this may apply to underclothes as well...


*always* clean, at least to start with...
