Default WOW!! only 150 & 172's flying update!

Actually, in Wisconsin you can present an "Aviation Use Declaration" to the
gal at your local convenience store and she's only supposed to charge you
the state aviation rate, which here, is less than the road use tax rate.
But can you imagine her actually doing it? or believing you?

At the end of each year we declare a certain percentage of our farm gasoline
used "on road for non farming purposes". The tax on that fuel they keep and
refund the balance in the form of a tax credit. We have to pay it first,
then request the off road tax credit.

Since you would be using it in a plane just send them the higher tax
on aviation fuel and ask to have the smaller road tax refunded. You
might save paperwork by just sending them the difference.
