Default Quad Cities Airshow Today and Tomorrow

Folks, Ifyou are going to the show, stop by and see the Junkers JU52. You will see a lot of long sad faces amongst the Commemorative Air Force gang that flew it and the C47 in from Gary. Unfortunately when the JU52 was being tugged back into it's space the casting containing the tail wheel broke in to and dropped the tail of the airplane onto the ground. The bottom 12 inches of the rudder was crushed.

So if you have time stop by and commiserate with them. There were only 6 JU52s flying in the world and only one in the western hemisphere, And that one is now grounded until new parts can be found or build.

If you have a buck or two for a donation it sure would help. Try find parts for plane that was designed in 1926.

I normally fly 3rd pilot/crew chief on the JU but family commitments kept me flying in it this weekend. I flew chase plane on Friday instead. After skirting thunderstorms arrived about 45 minutes after the damage wqas done, It definitely was a dark day.
