Default Faux Fighters from the local 94th Aero Squadron Franchise [7/7] - 332129 bytes Faux P-47-2.jpg (1/1)

David Tallishet (sp) who owned the 94 Aero Squadron and also restaurants
under similar names (something like xxx bomb group) is a aircraft collector.
Since he could never get enough real warbirds he evidently built lots of
fake airplanes to scatter around his restaurants to carry out the theme.

The 94th. at PIE (St. Pete-Clearwater Intl.) had several WW I airplanes like
Fokker tripes, and SPAD's etc. The unit down at MIA had a real C-47/DC-3,
not sure which never took time to really look at it. and the unit at PBI had
some WWII fighters.

He used to operate a small outdoor aircraft museum at PIE. Included was a
B-17 that still was USAF property and the Air Force decided they wanted it
back. At first they were going to fly it out and found it full of
corrosion. So the wings were sawed off (Ouch that hurt) and airplane
disassembled. Then a C-5 showed up on our ramp one day and the B-17 was
loaded aboard and off it went to Dayton. The rest of the airplanes
disappeared. Don't know where.
