Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your new camera. I suggest going over
to dpreview.com and browsing through the Pentax SLR forum. Lots of good
advice and nice pictures too. For more inspiration you might go he

Here's a tip for jpeg settings. You can choose from a lot of different
combinations but here's one that I like:

Image tone: bright
Saturation: +1
Sharpness: 0
Contrast: -1

I happen to like a lot of saturation, a leftover from my Kodachrome
days. You might find that too much saturation for some subjects.

And when I'm shooting something I consider important, or in poor
conditions, I shoot RAW. I also tend to use -0.3 EV for bright sunny
conditions to help preserver highlights.
