Default A Red-Letter Day in Iowa

What's the minimum age in the U.S. to solo a powered
aircraft? I looked though FAR 61 but can't see it. Here in Canada it's
14 years. Kind of dumb, when you realize that a kid can't drive a car
solo until he has his license at 16.


Joe could've soloed last year, when he was 16.

Gotta be 17 in Canada to hold the PPL.


Same here. That's why we didn't want him to start flight lessons
until he was nearly 17...
