Actually I knew those thingies were air brakes, but I was really trying to
find out why the insides were painted orange. Is it just for decoration or
does it serve a (safety or other?) purpose?

Also, in Tom's next picture you can see that insides of the (leading edge
slats?) are also painted orange. Again, is there a purpose?
