Default P2V-5F.jpg

The first tipoff for me, is that the -7 has a raised cockpit roofline. Lots
more headroom. And the -5 has bigger tiptanks than the -7.

Now, what I would like to see are hi quality pictures of the P2V-7LP, or
other P-2s that took part in Operation Deep Freeze. They had skis added to
their landing gear. Those skis required fairings to be built onto the engine
nacelles and forward fuselage so that the gear could be retracted without
creating all kinds of aero problems.

Sorry.
I'm showing my ignorance. I thought all 5F's were like I described.
After checking the BuNo page, I see I'm wrong.

Tom McManus took this picture on the Sigonella deployment in the late
fall of 1961. It's a P2V-5F.
