as I said in my previous post, neither Becker or Microair has been better
than the other....both are in fact quite good......but transponders by
nature are going to likely have more issues than normal communications
radios.

Buy the Becker. Without a doubt much better quality all round.
Microair may well have fixed all their past problems with their
products, but they've had to many issues to ever get my money for any
product. My experience was with MicroAir VHF radios, but their
Transponders don't actually have a great reputation either.
