With bizarre things like this I often wonder what role the litigation
experts play in the policy that is established.

There's idiotic security measures where I work; in some cases
employees are not informed of complaints against them because "it
might upset the employee".

WTF?

Anyway, I really do wonder what role lawyers played in the
establishement of the sec policy for pilots carrying in the cockpit. I
also wonder if they load "safety" rounds.




Well, i'm not going to answer the latter, but to the former I don't
think it was so much a legal thing as finding the best way to make sure
the gun didn't end up the owner's own nose. I'm not saying that they
succeeded there, but it's only one facet of the entire defence strategy
they've come up with since the 9-11 hijackings.
