AC-47
I enjoyed both museums. But I guess in thinking about it that they sort of mirror
their respective services.
Navy was compact, maintained, modern and fresh. Air Force was spread out everywhere
with a wide variety of presentation, old & new. Oh, I'm an Air Force Guy too.
Both were great but each with it's own character.
The only thing I missed at Pensacola was the opportunity to stroll the aircraft
storage area behind the restoration hangars. That would've been interesting. Walked
through one lane to get to the bleachers for the Blues practice, but that was it.
Here's a cool photo I took of the Naval Air Museum entrance...

When next you are by, stop by Hurlburt and tour the airpark. You will have to park
outside the gate and walk in. Then go over to Eglin and tour the Armament Museum (open
every day except Christmas, and some special events)
The Museum on NAS P'cola is very nice, and I like it better than Dayton (and I'm an Air
Force guy.)

Hi Les - Nice area you're living in there. We made it through there in late March
this year. Got to stop off at Pensacola and met Tom (Pensacola Beachcomber) during a
Blue Angels practice. Our visit to this museum was only of the exterior...they were
closed when we arrived. I would've liked to tour the interior. Well there is next
year.

That's the aircraft I was going to shoot this afternoon for him.
Hurlburt Field Airpark. Nice source of Special Ops aircraft.
