Default Connies, pt 3 - 003index.jpg (0/1)

Hey Mitchell, how long ago did you post the Connie pics? I don't see 'em,
but I picked up the thread, obviously after they've been posted. I saw all
your r/c pics though.
Missing out on Connie pics - this is serious?
Cheers

Mitchell Holman Posted: A Bunch of Connie Pictures!

Mitchell, I just wanted to thank you fir remembering the Connie and
posting the pictures. I have them all in my files! One picture was an
EC121D with snow on it and the rear door open. That was Christmas of 1969
in Keflavik Iceland. Also my last TDY in the Connie. The Connie was from
the 552nd Wing at McClellan AFB Sacramento CA. The pilots for this trip
were Butch Johnson and I, as we were the last of the 551st and we were
going to separate in January. (From the USAF)
Wish I could fit a USB cable in my ear and download all the images I
have there. I spent three years flying the EC121H out over the Atlantic,
watching for the Russians. And visiting exotic places like Thule.
The Connie remains dear to me. I have flown the C47 and other
multimotors, and the Connie is still my favorite. However, the radial
engines are out and the jets are in. And even a Buff on water is smoother
than the Connie, at least for the first half of the mission.
Best regards
Bill Grenoble

Thanks for the feedback. Every year when I post my "Graceful
Airplanes" series the Connie wins, hands down. Now planes are
designed by computers and just have no grace at all. You flew the best.
