There's something about radials.... they just.... 'get me' I love the
sound they make. One day, here in Melbourne, we had an Antonov AN-2
fly over; the first (and so far only) single-radial I've ever heard -

I grew up under the approach and departure path for Kenmore Air's DHC-2
Beavers on the north end of Lake Washington. My current home is about a
mile from their Lake Union stop, and though more and more of the flights are
DHC-3T Turbo Otters, there are still plenty of wide-open Beavers in the
skies over Seattle... (those on the ground tend to carry the risk of a
nasty infection, however...)
