The first prototype Flankers flew with the engine the Russians
reverse-engineered from the J79. So J79, F404, and perhaps F100 and F110 could
fit in the space. I have a scale model Flanker and have compared it to Western
planes and the only engines that I think would be too big would by TF30 and
TF41/RR Spey.
