Default mounting a PCAS on the glareshield

Has anyone found an elegant way to mount a PCAS unit like the Zaon XRX on
a compound curved glareshield?

Ez

Step 1) get a chunk of 1/8 lexan from the local hardware store - have them
cut it to, oh, about 6 inches by10 inches or so.

Step 2) send the wife to visit her mom for the afternoon (important - do
this before step 3)

Step 3) put the lexan in the oven for a couple hours at about 180 F. to
drive off the water - then raise the temp. to about 250 or 300 wait for it
to get rubbery

Step 4) wrap the lexan around a chunk of 1x6.

You will now have a platform that is about 6 inches by about 5 3/4 inches
wide with two "feet" that will straddle the hump on the glare shield. If it
has a strong compound curve, you will have to cut away the middle of each
side to make 4 individual feet (or make adjustments with a heat gun).

Stick the lexan to the PCAS with double side tape and put the velcro on the
feet.

A custom mount with no muss, no fuss (unless your wife catches you putting
the lexan in her oven)...
