Awesome! Thanks Andrew. I've been a Concorde "nut" for many years now and
absolutely love the aircraft. Too bad I'll never get a chance to fly on
one. Such a shame they have been retired.
Take care,
Nick
Nick, you are not the only one who wishes they could have flown in one.
I hope that sometime in the future we can again fly faster than sound as
fare-paying passengers, but I fear it will be a long time off.
It is a sorry state of affairs when we have to take a step backwards.

Hi Andrew. There were plans for a second generation Concorde but it seems
they were shelved. I hope that a second generation aircraft does come along
in my/your lifetime. This is the first time in history that we have gone
backwards and not by just a little but a huge step backwards. Airbus would
be stupid not to go ahead and develop a second generation aircraft. They
have the experience and knowledge gained from years of Concorde operations
to fall back on. Everyone else would be starting from scrartch. Also, I
believe that today's technology could produce a quieter and more fuel
efficient aircraft with greater range and passenger capacity. Operational
costs and ticket prices wouldn't need to be as high as they were for
Concorde.
Take care,
Nick B.
