I suppose you're right. But on the other hand, without injecting a
whiff of humor now & then our exchange of messages becomes rather
grim. Like the Smelter (for which I DID provide a photo... see the
blog). In that, wanting to melt some aluminum, and having a smelter
suitable for doing so, I am still UNABLE to do so because the thing
simply weighs too much for me to drag it about. The joke here is that
it really isn't very heavy at all. It is a drum about two feet in
diameter by about the same amount tall, lined with three or four
inches of refractory material -- fire clay or what-have-you -- baked
solid, meaning it isn't very heavy. But if I get a good grip on the
thing and apply enough strain to move it, the first thing that moves
is the vertebrae in my back-bone, crushing themselves down like an
empty beer can.
Now THAT is kinda funna if you think about it.
"Yo, Bob! Drag that foundry over here so we can fire it up!"
"Roger that!" ...followed by the sound of castenettes then a Bob-
doll, all of two feet high, face an expression of horror... tottering
out from behind the foundry-thing.
Now THAT'S funny. Unless it's true. Which in this case, it is.
