When the musuem was established, most of the aircraft that were
scattered around the base were moved into the big hangars across
the street from the USAF tech school. The B-29 and B-36 were
moved to other bases. The 36 when to Castle AFB, which then
closed, but the museum is still there. I forget where the 29
went, but it may have gone to Travis. There are still a few
planes outside at Chanute, including the B-52.
