The B-36 went to the Castle Air
Museum. That plane is in very
good hands - I first visited the
museum last March and most of
the staff are retired USAF folks
who really care about the collection.
Did the B-36 go to Castle AFB or Norton AFB? I left Chanute in November 1990
and remembered them cutting up the that big bomber and loading it up on flatbed
semi trucks. I always heard the B-36 was going to Norton AFB but that was
many, many beers ago!
